Moonvertising

This has got to be one of the stupider advertising campaigns I’ve seen in a while. Rolling Rock actually claims that they will attempt to advertise on the moon. Of course this raises questions like: “Who owns the moon?” or “Why can a corporation invade personal space?”

The real question should be not one of politics but simple science (as pointed out by Bad Astronomy). And when the question of science is asked, the answer is… there’s no way this is possible. Even if it was, a sub-par beer company from St. Louis sure can’t pay for it. This is clearly a thinly veiled campaign that may or may not be an intentional mimickry of a April Fool’s Day post from British site, vunet.com. This post was from 2006. Old gimmick news, Rolling Rock.
