Italian curse word time! My grandma used to say this quite a bit and I totally forgot about it until it was overheard by my sister today at breakfast. It literally translates to “go to naples” but it means something like “go to hell” in Italian. The funny thing is that my grandma was from Naples and every time she said “va a Napoli” she was calling Naples hell. When I asked Pops about it he said it doesn’t really literally mean “go to Naples” in Italian. He then suggested that an English version should be something like “Go to New Jersey.”

I’m in Siena now which is really nice and relaxing. I’ve had some downtime so I’ve got the comments section to work. It was some really dorky shit you don’t even want to hear about so I’ll spare you. In more exciting bloggery, one of the last things I did in Florence was see the statue called The Rape of the Sabines. It’s no David but it’s really intriguing because you can walk around the whole thing in a full circle and the statue looks completely different from every vantage point.

More to come about Siena…
